Superfood Cafe

Food

Real healthy food where every calorie counts along with making sure it’s also hygienic and clean is hard to find. Everyone’s incorporating healthy and nutrition ingredients to everyday dishes but at Superfood its all you’re ever going to get! Superfood started out on a small scale, and clearly Colombo responded quite well and they’ve launched it on a massive scale, with a beautiful location and a lovely ambiance! They’ve got the whole green going on with a lovely mural on the wall, with fresh green plants around and an open kitchen style so you can keep a lookout as your dish comes to life!

The owners are lovely individuals I had the pleasure of meeting the very first time around and are insanely passionate about what they do and you can see how it’s reflected through the menu, the ingredients, staff and the ambience!

Here’s what I tried!

The prawn detox bowl | S 1100/- M 1300/-

The prawn detox bowl isn’t the first time I’ve tried it, and to be completely honest the first time I had it – I was a little overwhelmed cuz I’m so used to having so much comfort food and this was clearly outside my usual zone. But the second time I had which was during this review, tasted absolutely incredible and I genuinely understood the flavor combination and it hasn’t changed from the first time I had it but now I’ve started to appreciate it! Packed with grilled, juicy prawns, with mixed salad leaves, rocket leaves, herbs, sweet potatoes, mung beans, bell pepper, bean sprouts, tomato, dill vinaigrette and the signature chickpea sauce which tastes like a better rendition of hummus.

Pesto Chicken Bowl | S 1100/- M 1300/-

Not a pasta bowl, but it tastes even better cuz there’s so much more flavor than just pesto! Cut up chunks of grilled chicken thigh, mixed salad leaves & herbs, couscous, avocado, tomato, celery, bean sprout, mung beans, cucumber, quail eggs, garlic carrots, radish, green pea sauce and pesto sauce. This was absolutely wonderful, and we enjoyed it till the very end! Yum!

Strawberry Lemonade | 490/-

This home made lemonade is one of their signature drinks and I absolutely love it! It’s tangy, sweet and got crunched strawberries and chia seads!

Kombucha | 450/-

If you don’t know what kombucha is, it’s fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink commonly intended as a functional beverage for its supposed health benefits. Try it out if you haven’t before! The alcohol content is extremely low and it doesn’t affect you in a way that it’s hazardous or conflict with and religious values.

Chocolate tart (Vegan)

All the desserts they make in house are vegan and you’d be shocked to admit it’s vegan cuz it tastes absolutely incredible! A wonderful crust for the tart and the creamiest and silkiest chocolate. I’m coming back for these guilt free indulgences!

They’ve got a whole bunch of vegan and vegetation options too along with vegan milk. All their meats are halal friendly as well!
